MKR Final Instant Restaurant Results – Will & Steve

Tonight on My Kitchen Rules it is Will & Steve’s turn to cook in their MKR Instant Restaurant and try and beat Drasko & Bianca to stay in the competition.

Entree

The first entree is Will & Steve’s Pigeon Salad with Caramelised Pears and Asparagus Recipe. Pete had this dish. He said “you should never judge a book by it’s cover”. It was the most beautiful dish he had seen on MKR ever. Not only did it look good, it was delicious. The only small suggestion was the skin on the pigeon should have been crispier.

The second recipe Will & Steve made for entree was a Moreton Bay Bugs with Celeriac Remoulade and Seafood Bisque recipe. Will was worried about Manu liking the Bisque, being a french dish. Manu had this dish and “loved it”. He had never seen Bisque and Remoulade in the same dish, but it worked and he loved it.

Main

For mains, first, Will and Steve made a Pork Belly with Apple, Fennel and Colcannon Recipe. Pete said this dish is exactly what he dreams of. It’s beautiful technique, they nailed it. He said they topped the entree. This is perfection!

The second main was a Lamb Backstrap with Pumpkin Hummus and Charred Brussels Sprouts Recipe. Manu said there were lots of ingredients on the dish. Manu said they have done a bloody great job on this main course. It was unbelievable, the lamb was cooked to perfection and he didn’t need any  sauce.

Dessert

The first dish for dessert was Will & Steve’s Apple Tart with Rum and Raisin Ice-Cream and Butterscotch Sauce Recipe. Manu chose this dish. He said he was a little underwhelmed. After the last two courses, this was a let down. Technique was the problem. The pastry was too crumbly, the apples were undercooked and the ice cream was nice, but needed more rum.

Will and Steve made a Almond Honeycomb Chocolate Bar recipe for their second dessert. Pete asked if the boys liked cricket, because this was a hat trick. It tasted spot on. It had the right flavours and phenomenal textures. It was “good, honest quality”.
