Jac & Shaz MKR Final Instant Restaurant Scores

Tonight’s My Kitchen Rules Instant Restaurant was Jac and Shaz’s restaurant “Stack”. Find the review and scores below. Will they beat Drasko & Bianca to stay in the competition?

Entree

For entree in the MKR Instant restaurant, Jac & Shaz made a Prawn and Leek Tart with Basil Pesto recipe. Manu had this dish. The pastry was cooked perfectly, the pesto was fantastic and the prawns were cooked “to perfection”. As a tart, he was expecting all the ingredients to be combined together.

The second entree was Jac & Shaz Fried Squid with Chilli Jam Recipe. Pete had this dish. He said “you know how to cook good food”, the squid was cooked well and the chilli jam had the perfect amount of chilli in it.

Main Course

For main course, Jac and Shaz made a Macadamia Crusted Barramundi with Beetroot and Orange Salad Recipe. Pete chose this dish. He said the plating was sensational and the fish was cooked perfectly. It was a “solid dish”.

The second main was a Sweet Potato and Walnut Chicken Roulade with White Wine Jus Recipe. Manu chose this dish. He was shocked by the plating, it was crispy outside and perfectly white cooked chicken. The potatoes were perfect and so was the sauce. He didn’t like putting vegetable in the middle of the roulade, but it was a minor thing.

Dessert

For dessert, Jac & Shaz made a Cherry Short Stack Recipe. When they went to take the coulis out of the fridge, Jac dropped it and it spilled all over the floor. They decided to just do a brush stroke of coulis, so they should have enought left.Pete had this dish. He said it looked great, but he questioned whether it was a dessert. He was a bit underwhelmed with it.

The final dish for the night was Jac & Shaz Poached Pears with Cinnamon Ice-Cream and Hazelnut Crumb Recipe. Manu had this dish. He said every dish tonight looked amazing. The pear was poached perfectly and the ice cream had a great consistency. What the dish was missing was flavour. The pear was only poached in sugar syrup and was bland. The ice cream needed more cinnamon flavour.
